Hi, I’m Shonette Charles—creator, author, and founder of Seamare Press.

I build stories and tools that help children and families grow with confidence, clarity, and cultural pride. My work blends education, emotional development, and creative self-expression—from television and books to workbooks and reflective journals.

I’m the creator of Little Stars’ Garden, a children’s show that helps kids explore their natural energy and emotional tools through story, music, and joy. I also design astrology-based workbooks like Sun Vibes, Moon Illuminations, and Zodiac Energy, which guide kids, teens, and adults through their inner worlds using accessible, age-aligned reflection.

Before all of that, I launched my creative career with the Breaking Into the Black Elite trilogy—a sharp, character-driven exploration of ambition, power, and identity within high Black social spaces.

In every format, I’m committed to centering self-awareness, cultural affirmation, and joy. I’m a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and I carry both creative instinct and strategic thinking into every project. I'm also a mother, a truth-teller, and a believer that when people know who they are, they move through the world differently—and shine more fully.
